thanks guys. 2 junction boxes would work, but seems a little complicated? when you say replace one piece of the cable... what do you mean precisely. my immediate thought was to use a connector and just extend the piece of cable?

Hi There, ok, i'm adding a new lighting point and switch in my kitchen. I'm adding a junction box for a spur. however through stupidity when i was cutting the circuit cable it ended up slightly too short to reach the terminals in the box.... like a cm too short. there is no slack in...
