thanks namsag - i will call potterton directly and try and get a part. but before i do, is there any test i can do, using a multimeter perhaps, to make sure 100% this is the faulty part?? I presume the stat just has 2 wires that unscrew from the solenoid?

Hi there - i have some questions that i hope can be answered - i believe my boiler stat is knackered-the header tank pumps over when my heating and hot water are on (heating quicker) - this happens after about 25 mins, and then it continues every 5-10 mins. There is a gushing sound shortly...
