Got a similar issue, my chimney is small and I can't get the drill up there to get holes to mount the register plate frame, does the 'no nails' suggestion meet the regulations?
as i understand the stove has to be 150mm away from combustable materials, meaning a 150mm gap around the edge of the stove.
If I have a rear exiting flue does that also need to be 150mm away from combustables? Does pink fire retardant plaster board come under combustable materials...

Another thing I wondered is how to fit the register board, do you fit the board in place, then fit the flue, or put the stove in then fit the plate around the flue?
I've pulled out a gas fire to install a multi fuel stove.
I need a rear exit flue on the stove, can I go straight off the back of the stove with a T piece? Or is it subject to a maximum of a 45* bend? is that part of the regs or just the manufacturer guidlines?
