Sorry Stacey, It is masonite we are getting, not balsa board. We found there is already masonite in the kitchen and we have never had a problem with the kitchen - it is sound proof and creek proof. Getting new boards could be very expensive. Good luck

StaceyB, We got all the floorboards re-nailed down - which stopped most of the creaks. We are also going to get balsa board and nail it to the floorboards. That will help with noise and also stop the creaks. We are putting carpet down with a thick underlay. I am quite confident that...
