Just a follow on from previous threads, I have cleaned up what looks like identification letters/numbers which may lead to finding out more about the source of the 8" hub. If anyone can throw any light on that? Thanks, Terry
There is no plate on it. Apparently it originated on a farm & made out of very substantial square hollow section. the ramps are also made from the same material and the whole thing galvanised. I am away at the moment, so will attach pictures when I return. If I had to go down to changing the...
Unfortunately all that is left of the cabling is a short length of wire from the parking brake lever, the rest had croded away whilst it was sitting. So I will have to start from scratch on the new configuration. Thanks, Terry
The other option I suppose is to utilise the suspension units with new hub assemblies. However, as the drive shafts are welded to the suspension units I would need to match hubs to the existing spindles. Could the profile of the shafts give a clue to the origin of the original donor hubs? Terry
The trailer has no identification plate on it, so finding the original manufacturer is not possible. It has obviously been professional made. It is relatively short and made of square section ladder configuration & would be ideal to transport my small 1.5t digger. It had been sitting in a...
That is interesting & makes sense. I do have the facility to make all hubs braked once I identify the origin of the original 8" & 9" hubs. As I will need to refurbish the internal shoes, springs etc., Thanks, Terry
The early pictures show the hub off and the brakes of the 8" hub. I have attached a picture of the 9" rear brake shoes which may help, assuming they are off the same donor vehicle. Thanks, Terry
I have added more pictures along with the 13" wheel which might help identify, assuming that was from the same donor vehicle as the hubs. I have noticed the rear drums are 9" diameter and the front 8" diameter, both have 4" PCD (100mm). Thanks for any help, Terry
I have a bespoke trailer which I purchased recently. It has 4 wheels on independent suspension units with the rear wheels unbraked. The front wheels are braked and 8" in diameter. They have 4 studs at 4" (100mm) PCD. I am trying to identify what vehicle the hubs came off so I can replace the...
I see there are a number of old postings on this subject, but the suggested links no longer work.
I have a 'Bavarian' range kitchen bought many years ago from MFI. The drawer runners are gradually giving up the ghost so need replacing. Unfortunately as the drawer runners were rebated into the...
I have an old house with lath and plaster ceilings and walls. Many of the ceilings have cracks and in some cases the plaster has 'bossed' separated from the lath. Having looked at some of the YouTube videos many suggest fixing the plaster back up to the laths by first injecting a bonding agent...
My daughter has just bought a flat in Edinburgh & the windows wont shut properly. The window turns in by hinges on one side top & bottom & also tilts from the base with the top part opening. The hinge appears to be a sort of pin sitting inside a sleeve. I took the plastic plug off the sleeve and...
