One more question. Do you put a wall plate on the existing bungalow wall? Which would be the outside skin of my house now.

Thanks noseall. Would you recommend a plate on the new wall too? I've seen that you can strap down to the inner leaf using twisted straps? Also do the joists on the side wall sit on the outside leaf?
