ok thanks for the help & sorry for what may sound dumb questions, i am a bit new to the workings of alarms.

When i turn the mains power off the outside alarm is set off, even though the control panel says the system is disarmed is that usual ?

I wish to remove a Sterling 10 house alarm, and was wondering if there is any set procedure to do this and avoid setting the alarm going off, i.e with the system dis-armed can i just isolate it from the mains supply and then just start disconnect the wires etc.
