thanks for the info/advice Tony. The pump head is not in the combustion chamber I just say the tube running from the gas valve up to the combustion chamber. How comes some boilersd have this balancing tube and a lot do not then?

Does anyone remember those balacing tube's (plastic tube's like an APS tube) that went from the gas valve to the air opening (point) inside the boiler casing? I was changing a pump head today in my Ferroli Falcon boiler (very old) :( and noticed it! What exactly is it for/does it do...
