There is a vertical piece of wood (2x3) fixed to the wall. I want to remove it but not sure what is the best method. I was expecting screws but instead I see something like that: - a metal circle embedded into the wood - a pin in the centre of the circle I have never seen anything like that...

Thank you for checking! I think the noise was there initially, not very sure. I would say it started before 20 minutes of running.

I think there is a leak and escaping gas is lighting up. I am not starting that boiler again. Is repair by a gas safe plumber possible?

I moved into a house which is heated by an old floor standing unvented gas boiler. When I light up the boiler, it makes a noise that is making me alarmed. It alternates between gas burning hum and a “blowing” sound, as if it was filling with gas. Is that normal? The control box is a Nova 820...

Yes it is a transformer for the LED panel and there’s a remote controlled switch off-screen on the left. The switch has held up, the transformer looks like it may have too. Thank you for all the replies !

The light fixture failed in a spectacular manner. See the disaster: I am scared to connect it again. My house has old wiring with old fuses no RCD. What could possibly have caused that? It’s the lighting circuit so may not be that risky but I would like to know what you think.
