Thanks.
As long as it doesn't make it worse - that was my main worry, and had read some conflicting info over on the MyBuilder forums about air bricks and vents making it worse?! There doesn't seem to be a notable draught.
But yeah, I try to keep humidity as low as possible with the things you...
This is our dining room and there's no chimney in use in this room (it's blocked up) - heating comes from a radiator. It's quite a big space though as the wall has been knocked down between this room and the kitchen (the kitchen also has a radiator).
Just trying to understand if it's needed -...
Hi. I'm looking for some advice on some internal air vents that I have.
It's an old house (1900/1910) and has a couple of big bay windows. The pictures show 1 example where I seem to get a lot of condensation.
On this example, there is an existing external air brick fitted. Internally, the...
That matches my loft - Hope you don't mind me asking, how long have you had the condensation and has it caused any major issue? How is you insulation up there?
I'm still on the fence about using the lap vents - I read they could cause an issue with "wind uplift load" but not sure if it's been...
Sorry to jump on your thread, but I have a similar issue.
I've been up in to our loft today - putting away Xmas stuff. We've only lived here since March so I'm not familiar with the normal behaviour of the house during winter - it's old terrace house, built around 1910.
I noticed some...
Hi.
Just had some repair a small leak I had on a bathroom tap - it's an awkward spot so got someone out to do it. Apparently, the washer was gone.
They have fixed the leak but I have just managed to have a proper look, and it seems like they have kinked the braided hose.
Should I be worried...
Thanks, that's useful and interesting.
Unfortunately not, and not something we'd want to do now - the rooms below have some original features on the ceiling too, which we'd like to keep as long as possible.
Agreed!
I've had a look around today and from what I can tell, there is a gap -...
Just wanted to bump this post, since the weather is starting to get cold, and need to explore some proper solutions. I've also been able to take a proper look and all isn't as I first thought.
Basically, it looks like there is no floor level insulation in the loft at all - it looks like there...
Yes, the pipe is 8mm. As mentioned in the original post this one says it is for both but not 100% if it would allow to swap out without amending the pipe.
Or maybe this is better?
Thanks - Is there anything I should consider, or is it a case of adding some jointing compound stuff around the olive. Any need for the tape on the threads here?
