    no hot water upstairs

Yes. The 2 pipes were hot last night as the heating was on. I’ll try when I get in. Move the lever from left to right. I take it this should allow the valve to open to let the hot water in? So it’s likely that it’s this motorised valve that’s failed? Got to be worth a go. Thanks.

The water only comes on when it’s called for by put in a tap or shower. There is no way to programme the water. Unlike the heating. I will mention what unsuggest it could be to the Jarrett heating engineer as it may save time though. Cheers.

There are 3 valves if I’m looking at the right things. How would I know which is the right one? The one on the cylinder? As the others are on the 22mm heating pipes? The programmer? They connect into the box on the wall which I have maybe wrongly assumed is the point of supply. The water and...

It has a summer (water only) , winter setting (water and heating) these are on the boiler. The heating has two remote thermostats. One upstairs one downstairs. Not sure how to set the water to constant on it. It triggers as u turn on the tap. Or it’s supposed to but isn’t.

Hello Daveydub, yes I suspect u are correct. There is a cylinder upstairs that is linked to a thermal solar panel. I changed the tmv today without any improvement. I have now booked Jarretts for the 13th Jan to come and have a look at the pipe work/solar cylinder etc. The Alpha boiler engineer...

Yeh it has a solar tank upstairs and a panel on the roof for hot water. It heats the water in the summer months but obviously not much help in the winter months. I’m hoping It may just be kicking in at the boiler with multiple outlets on as there is then enough demand for the hot water even...

    no hot water upstairs

Yeh, I have had it turned off to remove the tmv to try and repair/clean it. But reopened it once I refitted it. As I said, kitchen tap has really good pressure and is enough to get the boiler to kick in. So no issues at stop cock. Cheers.

Still only fires up with the tap in the kitchen. Not sure if it’s on a different feed as I said. But no other tap will make the hot water kick in on the boiler. However, if I turn a tap on and a shower it kicks in. So may be then there is enough demand for hot water to trigger it? I’ll change...

I’d rather not spend it John. But it’s something I can do. I don’t have the parts to try ur suggestion. Although it sounds as if it would have worked. Cheers. Jim.

The taps do have isolators. Don’t think the shower does. If i isolate the hot and water still comes out then it’s coming from the cold feed. Think that’s what u mean.

Thanks again. Sorry, I understand how the tmv works. But not how to connect the hot to the output and blank the cold. Well I know what u mean. But not how to do it. I may just have to buy the tmv and hope it sorts it. Appreciate ur replies. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. I will change the tmv and hope it cures it. My issue is, why is the kitchen tap ok, is it not fed via the tmv? All the other house taps and shower are effected. Only the kitchen tap is hot. Not sure what u mean by bridging the incoming hot to the outlet. I’m a newbie to...
