I am presuming my mate did this he took the thing to pieces but I`ll ask him anyway. He is fairly meticulous in what he does.... guess that the reason he`s a gas fitter

Hi Terry
He removed the injector and cleaned the the supply pipe to it as well. He held a small flame gun on the thermocouple and it kept the valve open any more ideas ?

Well had my man around last night who spent a couple of hours testing stuff and cleaning etc. He tried to adjust the pilot flame as it wasn`t making contact with the thermocouple, just very close. He couldn`t make it contact with the flame. He adjusted a small screw on the gas valve to do this...

I guess its me thats taking the risk but I`m relying on advice from him. I could ask him to check it for me I suppose. I`m not qualified to go anywhere near the thing and I have no intention of doing so.

No he didn`t measure the voltage he just checked that it was it was installed correctly ie tight enough. I will speak to him again tonight to see what he thinks.

New to the forum but I`m hoping someone can help.
A friend of mine is a corgi gas fitter so I`m not doing the job myself but the pilot light won`t stay on. It has a new thermocouple so I don`t think its that.
