Thanks Bahco! I will try to use a pushfit connector and see if that does the job. Accessibility is the biggest problem as there is only 1/2" between the hot and cold pipes at the top of the cupboard. I need a good plumber!

The valve is no longer in use and is leaking from the outlet to machine even though I have closed off that port. The hot water pipe has been put very close to the cold water supply and access is extremely difficult.

I had this problem in my ex-local authority house and my local council provided the information about removal and disposal. Hope this helps.

I have a T- type washing machine valve in my hot water pipe before the hot water tap. I have purchased a machine that doesn't need the hot water supply but I cannot get the valve to stop leaking water and it keeps flooding into the cupboard uder my sink. What can I do?
