Good point - I didn't mention the paving type. It's Marshalls yorkstone paving slabs (ie: fake stone). Brochure says that it must be bedded on mortar and fully pointed with mortar too... I had simply planned to use a few different sizes (300x300, 450x300, etc), to avoid a "repeating squares"...

Ok, so you're saying that the SFCU does not break the ground connection between the feed and load side when switched off, and that there should indeed be a ground connection between the switch and the junction box just before the fan? That certainly makes more sense to me... Thanks! J
