What to do with old cable?

A slightly odd question but someone may have an idea. I have a pallet load of large CSA single core cable in the old colours (brown, blue, yellow & black). It's a fairly substantial quantity including 7 reels of 25mm, 7 of 16mm, 14 of 10mm & a pile of 6mm, 4mm & 2.5mm. Ebay seems pointless as...

    Air Vent Requirements

Thanks for the responses. One further question; the boiler is rated at 21kW (maximum) which Stadium reckon needs 70 sq cm of vent. Can I use a vent this size or do I have to install a 90sq cm one as specified by the boiler manufacturer?

    Air Vent Requirements

I have a Baxi Bermuda 552 back boiler located in the living room fireplace but I can't find an air vent in the room. The existing windows & doors are not well sealed, which is why I suppose I'm still alive. The boiler was installed in 1988 I believe. The installation manual calls for an air...

    Problem with Grundfoss CH Pump

I don't understand why you feel I should rush out & spend money on something that may be completely unnecessary. I've no idea if changing the capacitor would solve the problem or not but surely it's intelligent to explore the possibility rather than simply throw money at the problem. If the pump...

    Problem with Grundfoss CH Pump

Do you change them because the pump has stopped working or is there some other symptom/problem involved? Can I ask where you get the replacement capacitors from?

    Problem with Grundfoss CH Pump

Possibly they would, but why spend £60 on a pump which (from the FAQ) could be an 'all day job' when the problem might be a £2 item which I could change in 1 minute. I also have shut-off valves either side which are of the type of which the FAQ says 'don't expect them to work'. So it's highly...

    Problem with Grundfoss CH Pump

Thanks for the prompt replies. Looks like a new pump then.

    Problem with Grundfoss CH Pump

I returned from a trip abroad to find the house cold, despite having left the programmer set to run the heating every day. The upstairs radiators were hot but the downstairs not & the pump was not running. I suspected the diverter valve (Honeywell V4037A) as I've had the motor inside go before...
