Ok so I googled this dump valve. Would this kind of valve fit a close coupled cistern?

I think it's a major job to hack out the brickwork to change the angle. Also its two storeys up so not that accessible.

Yes I was considering that approach. Might just get enough of an angle. The edge of the pan is 11" from the wall so a bit of space to work with.

Hello again, So I have taken a few measurements and they are all very low i.e. between 0.6 and 1.2 degrees. So i think this is the source of the problem. Not sure how to resolve this without knocking a hole through the wall and re aligning the soil pipe.

I will try and put a level on the soil pipe.

Yes I have wondered this. They are ceramic, obviously cast from a mould so all kinds of offers could creep in.

OK so I have everything fitted but no improvement- if anything its a bit worse. Think I will have to rip it out and replace with a high level cistern unless anyone has any other suggestions.

I will get them ordered. Let you know how I get on.
