    ok thank you. Yes they must be concrete really as it's in between floors of a apartment building. But it says on our home buyers survey "Most of the ceilings seem to be made of modern plasterboard, finished with a skim coat of plaster and lined or painted with emulsion."

    Hi there, We bought a flat a few months ago and have noticed these lines on our livingroom ceiling coming from the chimney breast (not in use). They are mostly hard and firm to the touch, presumably filled cracks or joins in plaster? However they aren't running straight so perhaps not joins...

    Well he’s a heating and plumbing specialist. Installs boilers and replaces radiators. Replaced 2 rads for us no problem. Replaced valves on a couple of older ones for us. This one was installed pretty badly it turned out so when we replaced the valves the precarious pipe situation came to light...

    Plumber reckons it’s safe but I guess you never know. Do you think it needs looking at by someone else and replacing?

    Hi there Our plumber had to cut a chunk out of our skirting to stop a leak in a pipe. It’s quite a hole and pretty scorched. See pic. He recommended we fill with heat resistant filler - see photo. Sand and paint. Should we just pump filler into the hole and smooth it out? Or leave a gap around...
