I don't know but I would assume out to the external mains pipe (it's a converted Victorian house so these internal stopcocks were in the shared hallway). I will ask them about the trench.
For reasons I won't bore you with, my neighbour's builder replaced my old metal stopcock and pipes with new plastic fittings without asking me. I'm now trying to make sure the work is OK or whether to get it done again.
He hasn't fitted to the wall - what is the best approach for this as I now...
Thank you, I'll try that for the wall lamp. For the ceiling light, the electrician is saying it's probably just electrical surges, or the lamp isn't great quality (although it was very expensive)!
Ah interesting, I think they might be LEDs although one is a three bulb chandelier and they all go at once?
The other is a wall light, one of two and only one of them plays up so could be the bulb.
I live in an 1880s Victorian flat (conversion from house).
New light fittings and new fuse board for the downstairs was fitted 2 years ago.
After about a year a couple of the lights seem to flicker every few weeks. It's quite infrequent.
The electrician came and said it's an older house and...
I forgot to turn off the boiler before releasing air from the radiator today. Luckily heating was off and water was cold!
But now the boiler won't work and the water pressure has dropped to 0.8. Assume it's related to me clearing the air but not sure?
I've tried turning off the boiler and...
Thank you. It seemed to work for a day but it's back again. Will check if they are doing any work around the pipes. Perhaps the tap itself is getting loose?
I live in a first floor Victorian conversion flat.
The neighbours downstairs are doing major work.
In the past couple of days, I hear a kind of knocking sound (a bit like when a window is open and a shut door makes a sound against the wind) whenever I run a tap.
It's never happened before...
Thank you, I had already quoted the PW Act but he was insisting the work didn't fall under that so I figured it was time to quote specific lines in the law!
Will definitely speak to the freeholder this week too.
The external extension was already previously approved two years ago by a previous owner so he is using those. The internal wall and chimneys are separate jobs, so presumably he thinks he thinks he can get away without permissions for those.
The internal wall is definitely structural (and another neighbour I spoke to confirms this). I'm fairly sure the external back wall is but not sure how it normally works. It's an 1880 Victorian terrace.
The council approved the external extension but not any of the other work.
