Is that pretty straightforward back filling Andy? I guess if I drain it off and the feed tank doesn't drain that answers one question.

Thanks Mottie. What do you mean by system feed? Cold feed pipe from the Feed tank? Just ordered some Fernox F3 so will stick that in the tank tomorrow.

OK Terry. I tried with a magnet to no avail. I tried the air release valve already and nothing is coming out. Same with the pump. Not air or water on both. I'll try and run the magnet on the piping in the loft tomorrow. shattered now !

so just disconnect them both?

Tank full up again no problem. Although didn't seem much went in if I am honest when refilling.

The feed tank was full of gunk which I tried removing as best I could before draining. Pics attached.

I would say an S plan based on quick research. I have 2 off 2 port valves in the airing cupboard.

Hi Due to noisy radiators and some noisy pipework. I decided to drain down my CH sytem today and refill with inhibtor. Drained using a drain valve from downstairs rad. due to stopcock not being the best. All seemed to go well and filled the system back up. Downstairs rads all drained of air...
