So I put a pressure reducing valve to the cold supply then I can fit a pump to the cold and hot leading in to the mixer shower? How do I know that the pressure of the mains supplied cold is reduced sufficiently?

I have mains fed cold supply going in to my bathroom and gravity fed hot. The hot supply is vey low preassure resulting in an inadequate shower. How can I boost the pressure to the shower? Can I fit a pump to the hot supply only?
