Cycle streets work on quiet roads. On main roads, they are just paint and a sign. Drivers ignore them.
The 2.4 million price tag is the real problem. That money should have gone into protected bike lanes, not a sign telling drivers to be nice.
Found this old thread and remembered my own DIY disaster. Tried making tall wardrobe doors myself. The MDF warped within weeks and the mural I painted cracked along the edge.
Gave up and used The Heritage Wardrobe Company instead. Their doors did not warp because they use hidden aluminium...
