Immediatly after the boiler switches on the sharp tapping sound starts. It seems to be located in the pipe which runs from the boiler to the pump. Can anyone help me solve this problem?

I thought that it may unbalance the rads when the TRV's do there opening and closing.

I've just found out that some of the TRV's are on the return side of the radiators and some are on the flow side! Is this a problem?

I need to change a faulty thermostatic shower valve, and surprise surprise there are no inline isolating valves on it! How do I drain the hot water side of the system so I can change this part? I presume the cold water can be isolated just by turning the stop cock off? :oops:
