I will give it another litre of sintinel inhibitor first cos I have 6 double rads and 5 single rads, maybe I never put enough in. If it hasn't improved in a couple of weeks I will try the Fernox F4 (LSI),. It says I need two lots of Fernox for a system that size, which is quite expensive so I...
I'm starting to see the build up of hydrogen in the same radiator again but it has taken longer then it did before. I'm sure the cold feed repiping has helped but it hasn't cured it completely. I put in 1 litre of sentnel inhibitor in when I refilled, I have an eleven radiator system. Do you...
I have finished the replumb, there was alot of magnetite around the cold feed and vent area.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this will stop the biuld up of hydrogen that I have been getting, I will have to wait about a week before I can tell if it has worked.
Thanks for all your help. tried...
just doing the new pipework, it did have a lot of magnetite around the cold feed/vent area.
I have cleaned around that area as best as I can and have made sure my F and E tank is clean.
Done the pipework, filled up again with water and checking for leaks.
Should I try to flush through again...
Thanks will do. Just one really silly question left, if I Tee cold feed into Vent what stops it flowing from the cold feed pipe and up the Vent pipe and back into the FE Tankwhen the pump is not operating?
Thanks, when I connect the cold feed by teeing into the vent would you recommend a perticuler dimension up the vent pipe (eg 6" up from horizontal flow pipe)?
Thanks for the advise, I still plan to cut out the pipework and replumb as you said on the weekend. The only thing I can't get my head around is I never had the air problem when the old boiler was in place. Do the new boilers these days show up this air problem much more then my old one did...
does joining the feed to the vent also help to stop sucking in air or are you saying that removing the piping that has the manetic sludge in it will solve the air problems and that joining the feed and vent will keep water moving on expansion and contraction stopping iron biuld up in the future...
Can that be what causeing the Air now I have a new boiler?
When you say combine feed and vent do you mean use a TEE from feed going directly up to vent?
Is it worth putting in an Air seperator while I'm doing it?
Would you replumb the cold feed the same as it is?
Thanks
I have quickly checked with a magnet and the magnet sticks strongly to the TEE Joint just above the pump and also sticks lightly to the Tee and elbow at the base of the Vent pipe and the Elbow on the right above the pump, which I'm presuming is the cold feed (It is 22mm).
What does it mean...
