Could the two pipes going from/to meter be gas by any chance? Very difficult to tell!!

Cut a section out and use slip couplings to repair it, the idea being that the couplers can be slipped the whole length along the pipe, you then line pipe ends up and pull coupler halfway up so it joins both ends. Then solder up.

V simple repair, just solder new piece in, then protect it from screed or whatever, after testing it's gastight.

Correct size ring spanner will shift it.

Have you fallen out with your neighbour for any reason, and feel the need to have a go at them? The plume kit is fine, as said above, however, it looks closer than regs permit to the vent, others may disagree.

Why not buy a flat faced iso valve?

New build house builders love throwing in Logic ESP 35 boilers, they must get them dirt cheap from Ideal. Half the time, they're grossly overpowered for the house.

Simply because the boiler "needs to know" it's full of water to stop it dry firing. Most boilers have a low pressure switch in them for this purpose.

I'd be curious to know why. I don't see how the orientation of the vessel will affect its performance, given that part of it contains water, and part of it contains air.

I wonder if the gauge has failed because it's full of muck?

The red button will either unscrew, letiing air out, or some just need gently pulling up.
