It does seem to be copper pipes at both sides of the stopcock.
I need to replace the whole thing as it sticks out of the plasterboard wall, so the new fitting needs to be rotated 90 degrees to stay within the wall.
It seems this is now beyond my capabilities as it's not a simple swap, so will...
In my previous house I managed to replace a seized stopcock, one like the below:
https://www.toolstation.com/stopcock/p71816
So when we moved into our current place, I thought nothing of doing the same as it's handle is missing and threads damaged!
However I haven't seen this type before and...
Ok so I successfully changed the pressure gauge, but now I have a new problem!!
There is now a leak from the automatic air vent, unbelievable. Please see pic of where it is coming out from.
It is leaking from the small cap where the air should escape from, it's a steady drip. It is dripping...
Hi,
My baxi neta tec ga boiler is dripping water from the pressure gauge. It started by steaming up but now it drips steadily, more so when boiler is on.
I'm assuming a new gauge is needed but I'm no expert.
I've found the replacement part online for around £25. Is it easy to replace? Just...
£200 - £250!!
I have had 5 quotes ranging from £430 to £800, and I only have a 1 bed flat with 4 radiators.
That's why I want to do it myself.
I will cap the vent and cold feed, remove pump and fit power flush.
Just wanna know which chemicals are best.
I am going to hire a power flush machine, probably for the weekend in case I can't get it done in 1 day.
Which of these is better (if any)

The system is from the early nineties, over 20 years old, so I think it's age more than anything.
Also at some point it had a cardboard lid on the tank, which ended up in the system, I cleared it out last year wth fernox but now the above problems here.
Hi,
I wouldn't quote the price to a tradesman. Just wanted a ball park figure to give me an idea. Would it take more than one hour?
We plan on moving in a year or 2 so just want to keep it running for now.
The 22mm pipe between the air separator and pump is about 60cm long.
If I get a new section of pipe and a new air separator, how much should I be charged to replace these parts?
I can also drain down the system before the plumber arrives to save time.
Hi,
My heating / hot water system keeps pumping over.
The hot water goes up the open vent pipe and into the small tank above my hot water cylinder.
It seems that the problem is around the air separator, it gurgles and makes a lot of noise before sending the water straight up the vent...
I have gone with a Honeywell CM707 as I couldn't turn down a bargain price of £10 !
I will look at cm907 if and when we upgrade our boiler.
Now I just have to worry about installing it. I take it that it doesn't use the neutral wire. Instead of terminating this in a block to make safe, can...
