    i dont know much about central heating etc. but is the radiator in the bathroom at a higher level than the rest? either that or i would presume that there is maybe a faulty join that lets in air just before the bathroom radiator... but like i said, dont take my word for it :)

    yay, found something!! :D there are 5 pipes that lead into/out of the boiler. followed them and found this: could this be wat i am looking for? only seems to have the one valve... if this is it, do i need to have the power to the boiler for the pressure gauge to work?

    cheers for the link. right, ive taken the cover off the boiler. found the silver braided thing. no valves at either end! ... is it the wrong braided tube or is it not a sealed system? oh, and the pressure thing reads 0 (which is where i presume my problem lies).

    i live in a flat with gas central heating. it's a Halstead Quattro boiler (don't know whether it's sealed or not, but would guess not as it does my hot water too). the boiler, and plumbing, has been making noises ever since i've lived here (6 months). always sounds like there's air running...
