Not sure John….inbetween nightshifts just now so living life as a zombie….
Will do some checks once Im back in the real world…but certainly haven't heard any venting from the aladdins!
Thanks,
Unfortunately that’s gone a bit above my head!
The only thing Im taking from it is that maybe I should run my pump at speed 3 which is opposite to what was suggested earlier?
I’m a bit confused…
Yes, the boiler is used twice a day to heat the hot water. Why will that be a factor?
I’m not sure what you mean.
Not sure if the pump is 6M or 8M, I’d assume the former.
Thanks for your replies John!
I’m just trying options that are at minimal cost first of all….Ive had 3 different plumbers do jobs on the system over the years and shown them the air problem…..I thought the 3rd one who suggested pressurising it all had given me a solution…..nope! I just have pressurised air in the system now...
Trouble is, as the guy that started this thread, I’m not sure where to go next?
Seems there’s no definitive reason for the air in my system.
The heatings not being used just now as the weather is warm….Im sure we will see the issues once the heating gets used again.
No, but the system gets a clean/drain refill with fresh inhibitor every couple of years. In fact the installer of the boiler commented on how clean the water through the radiators was….
Ive found the installer guide for the boiler (greenstar ri 24) and cant see any mention whatsoever of an auto...
Ok, will have a look.
Pumps definitely not cavitating, runs smooth and super quiet.
Ive ordered a couple of Aladdin autovents, cant do any harm can they….
Yes fixitflav, there is inhibitor in the system - i add a bit extra via the mag clean every time I have to top up the system following...
Yeah, the expansion vessel is on the return. Not a lot I can do about that, thats where the plumber fitted it.
My overall thought is that the expansion vessel isn't an issue at all, after all I had it fitted to try and address this air ingress problem, so the problem was there before the vessel...
