    Trace heating kit

Anyone able to recommend a trace heating kit please? I want to insulate a copper water pipe that is prone to freezing in winter. As well as covering it with something like Kingspan I'm looking at running a trace heating cable along it first. Thanks.

Is it worth sealing Indian Sandstone?

I'm having a Raj Green Indian Sandstone patio laid soon and was wondering if its advisable to seal it? I sealed my block paved driveway with Resiblock which I was really impressed with, and they also do a sealant for Indian Sandstone. Anyone done it to their patio? Is it worth doing?

    Greenhouse electrics

I'm going to fit more pieces of timber just like the one you can see, positioned along the run of the cable, and use cable clips to hold the cable in position, then there wont be any forces putting strain on the cable

    Greenhouse electrics

Only because I already had one, so didn't see the point in going out and buying a non RCD socket.

    Greenhouse electrics

Thanks for everyones advice. Finished installing it all today Used a 20S CW gland to connect the SWA cable to the outdoor socket. Cutting the SWA cable to neatly expose sone of the steal braiding so the nut can still thread on was a bit of a pain. Whilst I understand earthing at the socket end...

    Greenhouse electrics

Yes it is connected to earth at the consumer unit. Is that sufficient so I don't need to earth at the gland end of the SWA cable? It's an aluminium greenhouse and the outdoor socket will be fitted to a piece of timber board, this board will be fitted to the greenhouse frame. Is that sufficient...

    Greenhouse electrics

I'll be connecting the SWA cable to a plastic outdoor socket so i'll just take the SWA's earth cable straight to the socket earth terminal.

    Greenhouse electrics

Whats the best way to proceed with wanting to install a power socket in my greenhouse? I already have an SWA armoured cable going from my house consumer unit to my greenhouse. The cable is terminated in a junction box in the greenhouse, and turned off at the consumer unit. I now want to...

    Vaillant EcoTec F76 Fault code

apart from the boiler failing again a couple of months ago, something to do with the pressure sensor. It had become very noisy and not heating water. I decided not to throw anymore money at it and instead had a new Vaillant boiler fitted. In hindsight the £300 repair back in 2019 could have...

    Sanding Oak Doors?

I've contacted someone I know in the trade, they said the same thing about the Johnstons product not being suitable. They had a similar issue recently and phoned Osmo who said their PolyX oil is fine for veneered doors as its low in solvent and high in solids, (which is what makes it expensive)...

    Sanding Oak Doors?

Spoke to the door suppliers today, they advised not to use Osmo oil on my veneered doors as it can affect the glue, they recommend Leyland/Johnstons Classic Matt Woodstain Clear. So I'll be flogging my tin of Osmo on Facebook. They suggested not using meths to clean the doors, just a very light...

    Sanding Oak Doors?

I've got some Wooster Red Feather 4" rollers that Im thinking of using to apply the oil, I'm hoping they will be suitable. Is it worth applying two coats of Osmo, sanding in-between?
