Hi, I have a leaking overflow pipe (outside low down on wall). There is a constant trickle of hot water. The pipe i believe comes from the hot water cylinder. It is a large cylinder (8 years old - new build) and I think but am not certain that it is called a mains fed system?? Any advice...

Thank you all for the respones. I don't think I over tightend the nut - I did it up firmly by hand then about 1/4 turn with the spanner. I didn't replace the fibre washer and I didn't check if there was already one in place when I lifted the cistern back on - it was quite heavy and...

Should there be any washers or o-rings in the fitting? I couldn't see any when I re-fitted the pipe?

How tight should I turn the nut? Hand tight or spanner???

I have just changed the siphon on my WC. When reconnecting the cold water supply (plastic thread from bottom of cistern to screw fitting on top of a service valve) I have a slight leak!! Any suggestions???
