Thank you both. The actual mech is in a cover on the ceiling. This is where the pull cord comes from. You are meant to be able to pull the cord, and it will turn the dial to on. Pull it again and it is meant to go off. Cord does not pull, so you have to turn the dial manually. Water will not...
