    Hallo guys sorry its been a while (why must i work like a dog) but i did finally sort out the problem,simple the fuse in the ceiling light had gone could'nt beleive all that unessasary stress it was causing,anyway thanxs for all your help.Like they say if it was easy anyone could do it,cheers...

    there is no earth wire and I have tried to put the original switch (plastic) back but it is still not working. I havent done anything I know of to cause a problem? Is there a way of checking the wires are still live?

    its a standard brushed stainless single lightswitch controlling a fancy ceiling light in kitchen,which has got 4,50watt halogen bulbs off it,just changing cause decorating kitchen :)

    JUST INSTALLED A NEW LIGHTSWITCH PUT WIRES IN SAME AS WAS TAKEN OUT RED IN 1WAY AND BLACK IN COMMON?? THATS HOW IT WAS, WAS WORKING FINE ON ,OFF FOR FEW HOURS NOW NOTHING BEEN RACKING MY BRAIN OVER IT 4 AGES PLEASE HELP ME :? :?
