Difficult to utilise space - ideas appreciated!

Thanks for the ideas. I realized that the 'grotto' idea was not appropriate as my girls are growing up so fast, but that in turn made me realise that they are going to need some privacy down the line (our top floor living area is divided by paper shoji & fusuma). So I think I'm going to take...

How can you achieve a Santa Fe style stucco effect?

Sorry about that; thanks for all the advice. Would it work with just regular paint or should I wait until I'm in the UK to pick up some 'scumble' (what a great word, never heard it before)

There are a couple of doors in my house that are offensively ugly. Unfortuately they are not a 'standard' size so I can't simply replace them. They look like they are a made of a simple rectangle of varnished plywood, does anyone have a suggestion as to how I might improve their appeal? Is...

Can you paint a bath tub?

I have a very old built-in bath tub. The enamel has worn down considerably and I would like to 'resurface' it. Does anyone know the best way to go about this, I've asked in a couple of shops & have been met with blank stares. If possible please name specific products, thanks in advance, Martin
