Ok will try that today separate the 2 in wiring centre 7 and test which 1 I did test for continuity the other day and only found programmer wire could not find wall stat for heating on any block ??? do the 2 lives on stat need to be connected to find continuity on wiring centre end?? Sorry but...

Ah thats why wouldnt show on continuity test i would have to bridge 1 and 5 on stat then test wiring center makes sense now

No sorry that was just a photo of the 2 channel receiver i didnt do the red circle looks like i can use the black back plate, if not i put the white hgive one in Cheers for help i get a back plate and choc block for old thermostat cheers again pal

Yeah the grey with brown sleeving comes from programmer/timer up to wiring center block no.6 to 2 port valve heating Just can't find room stat wires in wiring centre done continuity test with a very long cable from thermostat to upstairs wiring center and from room stat to programmer it's done...

Tried chasing back to wiring centre and programming plate wires with multimeter without any luck Chased the programming wires back to wiring center ok with multimeter But no joy with thermostat So connect live and switched live together 1 & 5 Then blanking plate overm

I have just took delivery on hive thermostat hive hub and 2 channel receiver I have traditional boiler with water tank I know the receiver goes. Where programmer is same back plate But what do I do with old thermostat? Pics below of old thermostat wires
