I installed a 'Multivent' unit in the (well insulated so cold) attic and attached 100mm flexible uninsulated ducting to it from 4 rooms via ceiling vents. It's basically a box with a big fan and several inlets which vents out near the soffit (actually it re-enters flat and out through the wall)...
