I think the size of the dry patches are largely the same but can't be sure without taking a picture each day (which I might now do for a week or two and report back) I did wonder if that pattern was the acid settling in the joints between the blocks and therefore changing their colour in that way.

It's definitely not wet. That's three days of drying time with little to no rain.
