I'm going to attempt to fill an old internal window between our dining and utility room by framing it, bit of plasterboard then skim over it (therefore leaving the actual window in place should anyone ever want to reveal it again).
Above the old widow, glued to the wall, was a fake wooden...
Contacted Gas Safe who confirmed the chap on the certificate was LPG certified at the time.
However, it turns out he should have been present at the time of installation, not just turned up afterwards and commissioned the boiler (which I don't believe he actually did).
Gas Safe are now sending...
The company have come back saying the engineer's LPG cert has just expired which is why it doesn't show on the Gas Safe website, but he was certified when he commissioned our boiler a couple of weeks ago. Any way I can check this?
His Gas Safe ID (which I've been sent a copy of) is dated valid...
Which I would understand if the chap who signed off the work had the LPG certification to cover to the installer who did not. But none of the people involved should work with LPG, so it's really odd.
That's the guy who apparently commissioned the boiler. The engineer's page is exactly the same, as is the company's page and the owner of the company's page.
No-one involved appears to have any qualifications to work with LPG other than within the "Building Regulations" section.
This is exactly how it looks - no qualifications for LPG.
The company are saying that John Smith (the chap on the cert.) came to commission the boiler. I wasn't home on the second day so this is possible. But neither him nor the person who installed it show as being gas safe for LPG.
I'll be...
Their invoice wasn't broken down into materials and labour, so I don't have any way of determining the individual costs.
I'll be contacting Gas Safe tomorrow.
"Central Heating DOM LPG" isn't an option. It's a confusing list with two columns (NG and LPG) of ticks or crosses.
If you have a look you'll see what I mean.
I've found on the Gas Safe Register (with the help of Instagram) the guy who actually installed our boiler. Could someone in the know please clarify in what he needs to be qualified to be able to relocate and install a new LPG boiler?
He has an LPG tick next to "Building Regulations: Heating...
Address is valid and "John Smith" is on the gas safe register. Looked up the company on Companies House and there's no John Smith mentioned, nor is John Smith mentioned on their website.
However, this has made me investigate further. The company who did the work clearly stated on their...
Definitely wasn't the engineer who quoted or the one who did the work. And the address of the engineer on the cert. isn't one I recognise as being related to the company.
I guess the next question is should I pay them? I've been holding off paying until I got the certificate.
We recently had a new boiler installed by a local company. The owner of the company came to do the quote and then two employees/contractors came to do the work.
The gas safe certificate has the name of someone totally different and the address of the person is a different town to that of the...
