    Shower Screen Layout Help

Hi, In our house, the shower tray is in an alcove, with a full length wall on one side and a shorter length on the other. If you were to use a full length shower screen you would end up with that awkward gap between the wall and the screen. That's fine when you initially install, but becomes...

    Slow boiler pressure loss

Alright, thought I would give you all an update on this. So as you know, I was consistently losing 0.1 bar every five to seven days. It did this for about three months. Towards the end of May I topped it back up to 1.1 degrees. This is a digital display, and the temperature read 26. I went...

    Slow boiler pressure loss

I've not done any isolation yet, as I wanted to get a handle on the loss rate. I will get an engineer in, but like I said, the ones I've spoken to so far just wanted to chuck leak sealer in. If anyone knows someone decent in Gloucester give me a shout!

    Slow boiler pressure loss

Ok, using your numbers 2.27L is 0.075ml a minute, which goes back to my original question of are there any tricks to sorting something that small? The PRV copper pipe runs over two metres before exiting the wall, so I would think the water would be evaporating before it got to the end of that

    Slow boiler pressure loss

Ok, so it took 21 days to drop from 1.2 to 0.7. By all accounts this sounds like a very small leak that I am going to struggle to find. Other than finding an engineer that's not just going to chuck leak sealant in is there anything else I can do to find the leak?

    Slow boiler pressure loss

Thanks. What I'm doing at the moment is monitoring it so I can get an accurate time line of what I am losing when, as I assume it's not doing any real harm and I figured the more information to go off the better. One thing I did notice - I bled radiators before the last top up and there was...

    Slow boiler pressure loss

Oh, I think the post I saw said to turn all power off too it. Is that not necessary?

    Slow boiler pressure loss

Hi all, I've got a Vaillant combi boiler that's suffering from an annoying pressure loss problem. We've obviously not got the heating on, and haven't for a while, but I am consistently losing around 0.1 bar a week. If I top it up to 1.2, then it's down to 0.8 after four weeks, and the cycle...

    Crack through single brick. Problem?

Eleven weeks of lockdown has a strange effect on people....

    Crack through single brick. Problem?

Checked closely on this today and the brickies must have really hit it hard - there's actually three cracks in the brick, though granted they are hard to see. Given these extra cracks, does it need replacing, or is it ok ti leave?

    Crack through single brick. Problem?

Thanks for all the helpful responses. Funny how you can go years without noticing something. Enjoy your evenings

    Crack through single brick. Problem?

I'm sorry, Nige. I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean? Can you explain in simple terms what has happened? Do I need to be concerned or is it just one of those things? Thanks!

    Crack through single brick. Problem?

I just noticed that there's a vertical crack straight through a single brick on the front elevation of our house. It's about six foot off ground level and I can't see any damage to other bricks or mortar in the surrounding areas. Any ideas what caused this or of it is a problem?

    Hairline cracks following repointing

And on the plus side? Thanks for the response. I guess I was concerned it was some kind of movement as that's the standard paranoid reaction. Glad to hear it doesn't look like that.
