gas: I can't do that coz the washer goes on the other side on the bracket (next to the pipe) dex: It's not screwing at all, it's as if when the cutter bit is touching the pipe the male thread is not touching the female. When the bracket is not attached to the pipe it screws together fine...

I had started to figure it must be the devil's work, but I am more of a devil then God/Jesus or a plumber so the idea of doing a "proper" job is far beyond me. :)

I am trying to fit a washing machine and bought two self cutting taps as the box said they were easy to fit, and I'm sure they are but mine don't seem to be that straight forward. I have attached the bracket bits to the pipe (15mm copper) but I can't for the life of me get the bit to screw...
