    Although I guess I am best off trying to use the original cables in the loft? I notice there are 3 red cables off on another of those connectors....

    Okay so I found it in the loft and had an ex sparky look when he was measuring for window fittings, basically they are being used as an extension to the original wires and adding three to each wire that are in the loft. I've taken out the 2 extras and left just one in each connector....

    You guys were spot on. So I pulled it out and out this. Although this is as far as I can pull it out. Does that mean they added that connector thing there as the original wires are too short?

    Hi, I have changed lights before but I must have gotten lucky as this has stumped me. I have seen some other similar posts for not ones with the same combination of sheathed/unsheathed wires. I have also looked through the wiki pages but am still quite confused. Any advice?
