    Gillette blades

No, they only make their own products. Their production lines are built to make their own products and not anyone else's. There are razor blade factories that make blades for a variety of different brands, but not Wilkinson sword or Gillette. Edit: I'm referring to cartridge razor blades. I...

    Gillette blades

Not true. Both Gillette and Wilkinson sword make their own blades in their own factories.

    Dipping toe into painting

VOC's themselves aren't non compliant, but a compliant paint has a VOC content below the defined threshold.

    Flooding and none marked pipe

I'd get a drain CCTV company in to find out what the drain is and where it comes from/goes to.

What to use to fill hole

No need to apologise. I’ve just learnt something :)

    Dipping toe into painting

I'm amazed that you think that you can deviate from what spraygun and paint manufacturers have spent huge amounts of money and time developing just to reduce the size of the compressor. Don't you think that if it were that easy, all of the bodyshops across the world would have worked it out...

What to use to fill hole

I'd use easifill to fill the hole in the plaster and then when that's in and sanded flat i'd use flexible cauk to fill the gap between the filler and the door frame.

    Dipping toe into painting

If you over thin the paint, you won't get the proper film thickness. You can't compensate for that with more layers or attempting to apply more paint as there has to be a certain film thickness for the paint to flow and self level. Plus you'll spend a load more money on thinners and you'll get a...

    Discoloured roof tiles (Ed.)

Looks like whoever roofed your house used cheaper slate with iron pyrites in which are now rusting which is the discolouration you can see. Loads about it on the web if you search for rusty slates. This can be minor and just unsightly, or it can be much more significant and lead to the slates...

What material to backfill post hole

You're meant to fill the hole with the postcrete. If you've got a gap between the hole and the postcrete, you've dug your hole too big or not used enough postcrete.

Repair to a blown brick during tap installation

I'd be looking to make a bit of a jigsaw repair with the pieces of brick that blew off if possible.

plaster not drying due to damaged render (Ed.)

Judging by the dirt on the outside wall, you've got water running off the edge of the roof and down the wall which is penetrating through the render.

    Vive La France!

Is this really a right wing left wing issue? I freely admit to having right wing tendancies, but i fully support the right of abortion for women. I'm not aware of there being a conservative agenda in the UK to reduce or remove the rights for women to choose whether to abort a pregnancy or an...

1925 House - what kind of plasterboard is this?

I agree with JohnD. It’s distemper on old plaster.

    Vive La France!

If one political party can change the constitution, surely another political party can change it back in the future. Personally, I’m a strong supporter of a women’s right to abortion, but isn’t this just political posturing?
