Thanks for the reply. It proberly is not 4mm, he obviously has the size wrong. So i guess he would have to change the fuse to 32 amp and rewire fron the consumer unit in 2.5mm. My friend says that the new cooker is just plugged into a normal socket, so he does not need the control unit...

My friend has a cooker socket (control unit) which will not be in use anymore. I believe it is 4mm that is coming into the control unit. Can he lead 2.5mm cable from the control unit so he can add some more sockets to the kitchen. Is this ok or will there be complications arising from this...
