isolated would mean you can turn the gas on and use a cooker or gas fire, but not the boiler.
you just need to turn off the gas to isolate the boiler though.
our council says concrete asbestos does not need removing professionally. wet and carefully remove into clear plastic sheeting taped up. take to local waste recycling stating you think it's asbestos.
I would tape plastic sheeting around the walls immediately around it and knock it out.
Two companies including British gas and a large local said they will fit new 22mm from metre to boiler. it's hidden in loft, yet it was 22mm to just above the boiler (they didn't check). then reduced to 15mm.
3rd guy cheapest quote says 28mm from metre. I looked at the rough guide it's 12m so...
Gosh, will reply to myself then. Replaced return flow sensor and cleaned up the cold flow sensor which had a sticky (greasy) limescale on it. Hot water ran for 12+ minutes without going cold :)
Had an email from Vaillant Technical too if it helps someone else;
"S53 happens when the...
Recently installed a new secondary heat exchanger because it was going hot and cold, boiler would shut down due to over heat, this fixed that. After I installed it and turned it on it went to 83C+ and hot water squirted out of a pressure valve inside the boiler. then it stopped and didn't do it...
yes that describes it exactly, though in the manual it says to only it set it at 12 o'clock if you live in a hard water area. New secondary heat exchanger is £100+ though.
Got same problem except my boiler is from Oct 2006 install, Vaillant ecomax 828/2 e. Recently replaced a radiator in the bathroom then done a chemical flush left in for 2 weeks as advised on the tube, after completely flushing then refilling with inhibitor have had hot tap going hot and cold...
Okay bonded all the copper pipes in my bathroom and the other side. As the pipes feeding the shower are right next to my central heating pipes (retro fitted to 1930's house) so I decided to bond them too.
From what I can see none exists in my entire house apart from the mains of which the...
If you didn't know the condensate is highly acidic and will break the metal down quickly. They are already badly rusted, only the paint holding them together.
Ah that's what the guy above was saying about the condensing drain off device, didn't understand where I put it :)
How long does the limestone last though? :| would it need to be accessible?
Have started suffering the same fate, though hair dryer did the trick. 24 hrs later I'm in the same boat. It's not cut off my boiler it's just leaked all in my attic and I have a massive brown patch on my ceiling now, nice :roll:
My bathroom is currently in pieces so was looking at where I...
