Is it me or the paint that's too thick?

I also read on the web that a bucket and screen is a lot faster to use than a tray. I tried B&Q, Wicks and Jewsons and not one of them sell it! That can't be a specialist item, can it?

Is it me or the paint that's too thick?

Thanks for the input opps. Not sure if you are aware that Anza products are sold by B&Q. I got the Harris paint bug and found the large pad would only release the paint from the center as the plate curled in the middle. Ideally I would have taken Dec's advice on the brush but due to...

Is it me or the paint that's too thick?

Dec, I have been reading up on this site for a few days to try and gain as much knowledge as possible, I have noticed on many occasions Joe's posts lead me to think he is either very funny or very angry. Do you think the B&Q "quality" 4" brush will be as said or should I get a keeper?

Lol Jon, I was just thinking about the size of the cut in brush :-) Dec said go for a synthetic so I found a B&Q Select Fine Finish Paint Brush 4 Inch for £7, would that be a use and throw brush or would it last? Thanks for the advice

Is it me or the paint that's too thick?

Joe My limited understanding of this subject needs all the help it can get and the guys here have been kind enough to spend their own time helping to enlighten me. I can't thank them enough for that. I'm going to try the 9" and see how I get on due to speed, I have a 4" if I have control...

Is it me or the paint that's too thick?

I did try a few drops of white spirit on the paintpad which seemed to help, I was worried about doing this as the instructions state do not thin. I am hopeful that a roller will manage this much better as the pressure needed to transfer the paint from the pad to the surface also caused the...

Is it me or the paint that's too thick?

Ah, I see the topic has been a little busy as I was looking for sleeves :-) Can I use an emulsion sleeve if I am going to throw it away at the end of the session? B&Q do Hamilton Perfection Woven Roller Medium Pile 9 Inch For £4 the fabric will not unwind even when soaked in water or...

Is it me or the paint that's too thick?

Thank you for being so patient with me. So can I take it a brush will give a better finish than a roller, but a roller will be a lot faster? I do believe if a job's worth doing.... but I have 6 rooms and a large hallway to paint. I know this is going to look bad but is mum is blind and dad's...

Is it me or the paint that's too thick?

Thanks for the fast replies. I know this sounds stupid but I need to ask... If I use a roller does it need to be a mini one? the kitchen is about 17m*5m and I still have all the other rooms to do. Should I use foam rollers as you stated or sheepskin? My limited understanding was foam was...

Is it me or the paint that's too thick?

Thanks Dec. So a brush will work better than a roller? I have only started on the ceiling, the tint would be for the walls :-)

Is it me or the paint that's too thick?

I have posted the details below but my questions are: What can I use to thin Zinsser allcoat solvent based paint? What can I use to tint that paint? Are paint pads just a gimmic? TIA The Lump I have been forced into repainting my parents home and have never decorated...
