Thanks. Didn’t want to start a new one and be told “there’s already someone basically doing the same in this thread”!
I’ve determined the zone, it’s the yellow valve. The red is the other/main heating valve. This has I think 4 wires, so is it a case of me plugging all 4 wires (based on their...
Hi,
Sorry to resurrect this thread - just wondering if someone could advise. Similar setup to the original poster, but I’ve replaced a Danfoss 5000 with a Wiser 2-channel setup. This has been fine in summer, handling hot water, but there are two motorised valves for the heating. One of them is...
Thanks, that makes sense. What I can't understand is the wiring for the old TP5000. The TP9000 sits in a cupboard near the Danfoss WB12 wiring, so the Wiser hub will replace the 9000 fine, but the TP5000 is two floors up. If I remove the 5000, how do I switch that valve on and off without...
So you'd recommend connecting the valves and replace the TP9000 with the Wiser, instead of wiring the Wiser directly to the boiler? Your advice about the building regs is excellent, much appreciated. We've just bought the place, so suspect we'll be here a while, but I'll keep tabs on what I...
Sorry to resurrect this thread, just a quick question. I have a near-identical setup and also want to replace with Wiser. But I don't care about the ridiculous 3rd zone (the heating for just one bedroom!). So I want just two zones - heating and water - and need to somehow combine both existing...
Hi both. I have a similar set-up - Baxi Duo Tec combi - and am going to swap the Honeywell with my old Hive tomorrow. However, the colours on my Honeywell receiver look different to yours. Is the advice from @stem still valid?
Thanks a lot
Will
All done. Thanks @petit_pablo hugely for all your help. Brilliant! And nice to learn a few things along the way too. One q - why did we need to link the common with the live?
No. I've taken it from one house to our new house, so it's not connected anywhere yet.
Last question. Here's my electrics. Circled the main stuff. Do those wires currently in L and N etc stay there, and the Hive wires join them?
Sorry to be such a cretin.
OK. And by "link Hive Live to Hive Common", on the Hive backplate I should screw Common into Live so they use the same socket - is that what you meant? No.1 into L, in the pic below
Thanks @petit_pablo. So to confirm:
Hive Common to boiler L
Hive Heating On to boiler RT
Hive Permanent Neutral to boiler N
Hive Heating Off - not used
Hive Permanent Live - not used
Sorry for the questions and thanks for your help.
