    Hi Tiger, Thanks for the reply - I had considered self-tappers, but didn't want to damage the gate (although I own the property, and I I will always have a wooden gate it shouldn't be a problem). The idea of hooking on to the mesh is worth me exploring - thank you. Also those clips look good...

    OK, i got the supply flowing again... it still operates at around 8 degrees cooler than downstairs (according to temp valve on the manifold) ...... any ideas what may cause this? I've tried opening up the return thermos more, but it has no effect. thanks again for any help, Neil

    I cant understand why the supply pipe would be cold as there doesnt appear to be anything controlling this from downstairs (e.g. nothing stopping the supply getting up stairs).
