Yeah, just looked at the pressured one and the closure system is better constructed - like a piston that you turn to close it downwards. They seem to open up more with less turn of the valve.

Just noticed that I have purchased a pressurised radiator valve instead of a standard one.
Whats the difference and when and when not should you use a pressurised one?

Sorry, an addendum - my boiler is an old thorn olympic (don't know the model number) but it gets serviced every year and the bloke tells me i don't need a new boiler as this one works fine. He recently came and changed the thermocouple as the pilot wasn't lighting.

Hi,newbie here. My problems have been ongoing for a while now. Not sure when they started, but have recently drained the system to refit a new radiator. Did that and refilled system. Bled all radiators periodically as air was getting trapped at the top of the upstairs rads.
