In terms of weather compensation, im intending to hook the wiser system up to my Home Assistant installation from which i can interface with outdoor sensors, weather stations and forecasts so should be able to knock something up.
To be honest, i have chosen S/Y plan primarily because thats what most people seem to talk about. Thanks for mentioning this, i'll have a look into it.
Thanks, i've decided to go with open vent Y plan, all TRVs apart from bathroom radiator. Also, as you say, the current HW side is converted to just the feed and expansion and the current heating side just gets plumbed into the HW coil on the "resting" side of the mid position valve.
As part of my plan to install a full drayton wiser system this summer, i'm looking to change my current C plan system into a fully pumped S plan as it seems to be a requirement of the wiser system.
I just wanted to check that my ideas below are correct.
My boiler is a Worcester Danesmoor 15/19...
Ok thanks for pointing that out. I'll take a look again although i thought as long as you had a cylinder stat and a 2 port on the HW feed into the cylinder you were ok. Would be interesting to understand why the wiser system treats the stat->valve calling for boiler and pump different to it just...
Hi
This summer i'm looking to upgrade my archaic central heating to something like the Drayton Wiser system. The current system is as follows - seems to be C-plan with gravity hot water and pumped CH
Worcester Danesmoor 15/19 oil fired boiler
Grundfos CH pump
Potterton EP2002 timer
Frost...
Yeah, long term plan is to do something like that, but next year we are having an extension which also involves a whole house rewire, new or repositioned oil boiler as well as moving from gravity fed to something better, probably pressurised. Just want something in the interim that is relatively...
Looking to upgrade our 30 year old+ room stat with something digital and programmable. Here is the current wiring set up.
Is this just switchable with any programmable 3 wire stat? Any recommendations of which models are good and reasonably priced would be welcome. Looking for something with 7...
I think the fall should be doable, but as you say, MDPE is 32mm OD whereas the fitting would need to be ID of 32. The output can also be 22mm without an adapter in place. Not sure how to manage that join.
Hi
We are putting a cabin in the back of our garden and are looking to take grey waste water from a sink and shower back to the main drain of the house.
I was looking at one of these

However, I'm...
Cheers
I think we might go for this one. Wasn't planning to have a new boiler but it does seem that positioning the existing one in a way that works for both fitting and aesthetically is problematic...
I take it you can compartment vent at the top and bottom of the back of the cabinet to the outside if required? This may be possible, if not, is it something that can be done by just venting the top and bottom of the cabinet in the kitchen space.
I guess it's also dependant on the boiler....
Hi
We are currently having an extension built but having a bit of trouble working out where we can put our oil fired boiler (Boulter Classic). We want it as hidden as possible, preferably in a kitchen cabinet behind a door.
Dimensions of the boiler are 450 wide x 600 deep x under worktop...
Hi all,
I have seen in previous posts that it isn't recommended to drill through studs from a stud wall in order to route waste pipes. However, in my case i would like to run a shower waste inside a 1m section of stud wall. This would involve drilling into 2 vertical studs. I'm in a bungalow...
