Thanks guys. I'm obviously missing something and will go back and disconnect the connections to the elements before I measure their resistance again. It'll be great if I don't order two immersions unneccessarily.

It definitely read 20Ω and 0.020 when on the KΩ scale. I think that either I wasn't measuring what I thought I was measuring because the elements were still connected to the contoller, or it's because I'm using 9v DC from the battery inthe multimeter to measure what is in reality an impedence...

Have you got the link to the CC thread you talk about regarding Grundfos pump heads, I can't find it.

I can't get one of these valve heads off.... Any tips for stubborn ones? The black plastic ring at the base only tuns about 45 degrees, tried encouraging it with my pump pliers... next step seems to be break it off :(

Rocks, No it doesn't fill when it gets to the start of the rinse cycle. I filled it using a hose into the soap draw and then it started going again. What I don't understand is that the solenoids are getting 240v but not opening, but they do open at the start of the program when the machine...

I measured the voltage with a voltmeter, but I didn't check the coil resistance. I think the solenoids are ok, because they operate to allow the machine to fill when it begins the program and it always the cycle always stops at the same point, at the beginning of the rinse cycle.
