if its where i think, it possibly seals like a compression waste fitting, try wrapping thread tape around the sealing ring. if its an o ring that seals it you could try the same thing. failing that silicone saves the day alot!

yeh thats what you do, think they just do that to save you a blank if fitted at end of heating circuit
