Electrician can not find Earth Bonding Tags

He does want to see the tags. I found a photo from when we were doing the kitchen and have managed to trace the earth wire. It is in some boxing in that runs down the side of the boiler and then under the work surface to the tags. I reckon it could be cut just before it goes under the...

Thanks Masona I understand  . I tried a few techniques gleamed from around the web mainly aimed at snapping the cylinder at the week point in the middle. After about half an hour of wiggling it and hitting it with anything in the toolbox ..... nothing. So as I was re-assembling the...

    UPVC Door won't open

Not sure if it is the same problem as the referred to topic. The key will turn and the cylinder seems to operate correctly however the handle can not be pulled down to disengage the rack bolts ? / deadlocks and if the handle is pushed up there is no resistance. Any other ideas or does this...

    UPVC Door won't open

Hi guys. Our aging uPvc backdoor locking mechanism has broken. It apears that the Rack bolts are stuck in the locked position and therefore we can not open the door when the lock unit is unlocked The lock is of the lift the handle to engage types. However the lift up action feels really...

    Replaced consumer unit

That is exactly what happened with mine breezer although due to the ring main going upstairs then downstairs and then back again it took the sparkies a while to isolate. Simply moving the to the non RCD side is a bodge. Get them back !

Ceiling down or cover it up?

Just took the Lath and plaster artex coated ceiling down in our 1930's house'skitchen and it was a piece of cake. There is not as much dust as you think and it soon settles. The Artex holds it all together so it often comes off in big chunks ... Which was nice :) I used a 24" wrecking bar...

Boiler Fires when turning Cold Tap Off!

Cheers Cog That sounds about right as there are 2 unlcipped dead legs waiting for the plasterer to come in. I have just bled of the air (but not clipped the pipes yet) and this has reduced the tripping considerably so hopefully by the time everything is installed and being used this will...

Boiler Fires when turning Cold Tap Off!

Our Vokera Linea 28 has started firing up when the Cold taps are turned off. I did add some tee's off of Cold, Hot and Heating yesterday to feed new shower room. I.e. run cold tap for as long as you want and then turn off, for a split second whilst turning of the cold tap the boiler fires...
